Math: 

Monday:  Daily Review “Mon. 5” #3,4 and 5   (Making sure paper is labeled and numbered neatly, set up paper for rest of the week)   Please encourage children to work on neatness.

                              Text pgs 24-27    Discuss

                               Activity- 

                              Pg 24 – Activities – bottom of page, prime factorization and factor trees

                             pg 25 – see different paths trees can take but still find the prime factors.  finding the greatest perfect square within the factor tree

                             ***** this will need to be done on Tuesday, Flocabulary:  Factors and prime numbers – Only complete the video, vocabulary game, read and respond, and quiz.  (I will go over this with the kids) 

                              Assignment:  bigideasmath.com   Lesson 1.4 (20 questions)                        

              

Tuesday:     Daily review – Multiplication fact review – 5s

                 GCF – Greatest Common Factors Text pg 28 – 31

                  Please remind your student to ask questions.  

                     We will work many examples, we will look at many ways to understand and find the answers. – Teacher book “visual” example

                     more practice on recognizing how to find GCF                             

                 

Wednesday:     Daily review “Wed 5”       #3,4,and 5     **** Parents, please know that I post these plans as a guideline.  However, we sometimes don’t get it all done.  We are behind.  :{ *****

Thursday: Daily review “Thurs 5”  #3, 4, and 5

              Text pg 34-37  Lesson 1.6 LCM

               Using notes page again discuss the difference between the GCF and LCM.

              Use prime factorization to find a quick way to find the LCM.

              

               

Friday:  Daily math review “Fri. 5”  #1

            Hand in Daily math page.

            IXL – complete the recommended skills plans.  

            

       

Reading For Pleasure

Monday:  Read aloud to class – Code of Honor  

                                              each day we will summarize and make predictions on what will happen.  Trying to encourage comprehension.

                Read together as a class:  Where the Red Fern Grows   

                                                      Discuss, relate to the characters, give feelings about how they feel towards to boy and his dogs.      Finish chp1 and 2 comprehension questions.  Begin Chapter 3 and 4 – word search.                                                          

Tuesday:  Read aloud to class – Code of Honor – Discuss and summarize

               Read together as a class:  Where the Red Fern Grows   

                                                     Encourage more discussion and questioning of the story

                                                     Illustrate a series of pics /timeline of events happening.

Wednesday: Read aloud to class –      Code of Honor - Discuss and summarize

                   While reading, have the class illustrate the setting at this time in the story.

                   Time allowed for free reading.

Thursday: Read aloud to class – Code of Honor     – be prepared to test or summarize                      

               Read aloud together:    Where the Red Fern Grows
               Discuss, question

             

Friday:  Read aloud to class – Code of Honor  – be prepared to test -summarize

            Read aloud together:    Where the Red Fern Grows

               Study Hall time:  Bring own books or other work needed to be completed to this hour.
